Through her reflections of man’s interactions with nature involving such issues of genetic mutations, the introduction of non-native species, and the overuse of plastics, Ya’el’s prints, drawings, sculptures, and instillations challenge the viewer’s own roles in the dynamics of our planets current state.
She also explores alternate realities filled with numerous flora and fauna that perform activities relating to their unique niches within their abundant landscapes. Her works are inspired from observation of our natural world, and act as metaphors of our own lives. These many macro and microcosms environments are created in a delicate manner that draws you in to explore further dualities and implications.
Ya’el currently lives in Huntington Beach, received her M.F.A. at California State University at Long Beach, and her B.F.A. at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada. She has shown her art nationally and internationally in group shows throughout New York, Florida, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, Wisconsin, Italy, and Denmark and recently in the OsCene show in Southern California at the Laguna Art Museum.
