Goodbye Katie
Posted February 27, 2013
It is narrow, long, pepto-pink. One in the morning, one half at night. Three vomit-orange – round and tiny- every other day to chase the Cancer away. Small- two- white- powdery- innocuous to the eye every other night To help the vomit-orange do its work. Tinier, still, one off-white and round dose each night Lately, twice a day to fend off the care that breathing is harder than it was When meadows were things to run through, To follow me through as I shot every petal that we saw...

Time Notes
Posted January 02, 2013
Note to self: There is never enough time. The New Year usually causes most of us to think about things past, and what we wish will be. My own personal list is probably not all that unsual, but I suppose when it is *our* list, it has a certain bitter-sweetness that no one else can taste. Katie, my constant companion and the best dog-friend to ever walk this earth, is sick wth lymphoma. She is taking medications, and I watch her every move. I feed her treats that she once loved, but that n...

Seeing it
Posted December 11, 2012
A moment here.. to thank everyone for their kindness when I have been so caught up in every day life and my work. I see your stars, try to respond, and thank you- each of you- who have been kind enough to stop and say something to me, or leave a star. I dont want you to think I have forgotten any one of you. I wont ever catch up, but I surely will visit each of you as I can. Merry Christmas, My BC peers xx Maureen

John Shaw's art loss and what we can do/learn
Posted October 31, 2012
Hi everyone, John Shaw has lost much of his art work in a flood. We at Trillium Gallery Online are a tight-knit group of artists and photographers and writers, and we are so sad to hear this news! Is there anything we can do? im not sure - aside from being there for him, and supporting him. But it got me to thinking.. what can we do? What proactive action can we create to help others like John, or at least make use of what we do not need or - how do we make use of what is left? Please ...

All the pretty stars
Posted May 30, 2012
I love stars. I appreciate the kind we all share here. You have been so generous with them, and so I hesitate to take down work, which I assume will also remove some of those stars. But I need to freshen up the pages. Too much, and too confusing. Just sayin'... :-) x

The Dead Speak (getting the last word)
Posted February 22, 2012
Wandering in an artists' cemetery, looking for something... not sure what. A photo here and there; a bit of old stone and faded flowers; memories... Last Words are etched on tomb and across the face of cold stone, poking me with their final last words of wisdom, humor, belief-- and hope. Thought I would share some that I read. Maybe you will pluck a few and keep them as your own, or maybe you will smile-- giving them yet another final word: "And when it is my time to leave, I will n...

A little note about me
Posted January 30, 2012
Gave some thought to this before writing here, but wanted to let those who might notice me missing or not around much in the next few weeks, where I'll be. I have some surgery coming up on the 6th, and I have lots to do before that, and then obviously afterward, I'll probably only pop in and out for a while. Some don't care when we are AWOL, and some do. I figured I'd best tell the ones who do care, where I got off to :-) Big Hugs! Maureen xxx

For Lianne Schneider
Posted October 17, 2011
Anyone that knows our Lianne, whether in person or via any of the online forums, knows what a special and loving person she is. Most of you know that she is recovering today from surgery she had this morning. God is Good :-) I was hoping that we could post things here for her to see when she gets back. Her favorite flower is the rose... Roses to share, anyone? The moment I met Lianne over a year ago, when she came to Trillium Gallery, I was filled with the sense of how large her heart ...

Thanks, Blue Canvas, (and to your fantastic Kevin N who was patient and professional) for appreciating Trillium Gallery's spirit. Trillium's members are appreciative of your True Commitment to the arts, and we thank you for including us in your next issue of Blue Canvas Magazine. There's too often a lot of empty promises made in this world- and the 'art world'- but you renewed my faith. Thank You, Maureen-- and the Members of Trillium Gallery
