Great when a celeb likes your portrait of them!

I have been incredibly lucky in the past when I have painted a portrait of a celeb or personality and it gets a nod - often from the person themselves! I had been featured in "The Land" Newspaper in 2005 for my Adam Spencer art work for the Bald Archy Prize - a real buzz seeing it on the ABC TV show while doing the ironing one morning! Then my Bald Archy work of The Weakest Link (Australian version that was shortlived) version of Cornelia Frances was actually bought (on Ebay) by Fintan Coyl...

Polish Biennale 2013 - 4 entries

I have three works being finalised for the Polish Art Foundations Drawing Art Prize for this year. Celtic Letter T, William Morris AE and Number 8 in Blue are to be entered. Exhibition will run in August in Melbourne (Australia) and in November at a Regional Gallery in Victoria in 2013. I have been selected for the Art Prize exhibition in the past and am confident for this year too.

I am very happy to say my art is a part of the www.doedemee.be poster project that will be touring Europe. Artists from 28 countries (including myself!) have been asked to re-interpret one of the top 100 classic books of all time to be made into posters. The project is to help fight illiteracy and make aware of the problems that are global regarding illiteracy. How to grow as an artist in this day an age

I had a wonderful compliment and enquiry from a fellow BCer. It was how to grow or what advice I would give as an artist my self. Getting out and about and self promote is a great idea. I do belong to other websites that are similar to Blue Canvas (redbubble.com and fineartamerica.com) just to name two of many that I have found helpful and motivating. Google the net for art prizes.
