The commission % is added to the base cost. Bluecanvas produces the print for a set price, let's say $10 for example. If you mark up 50%, then we would sell it to a consumer for $15. Bluecanvas retains the base cost and pays you the commission. So you can set the price by increasing your commission as much as you'd like, and Bluecanvas only keeps the base cost of producing the print for you. Dear Sensei Curator: I have recently uploaded 3 book art drawings that I took with some sort of fancy phone brother is in the habit of trading in every year but I was forced to shoot the pics at an angle so that they would look the right size and so as not to get the other blank page in the book in the pic. I had to edit the pieces and flip them right side up and then I submited them to BlueC. Upon entry they had flipped over again. Is there any way being the master of the Cure that you are in the habit of being that you could use your mighty powers to reverse this Atrocity! Thank you for listening to my plight, CuratorSan.
You've traveled far, young, innocent Armando, but you've arrived at your destination. I see my legend has preceded me, and for your efforts, you will be rewarded with the answer in which you seek. The file you're uploading still has the original Meta information that is dictating the orientation. When you "flip" them in your image editor, it's not actually modifying the meta data in the image, it's just altering your view. So when you upload it, our system reads the meta. To correct this, you can try resaving the image in your editor with a new name, and reuploading it. Or maybe try a different editor. But that's the reason you're experiencing this cumbersome intolerance. (throws smoke bomb and vanishes into thin air)
I just set up my account and I want to order cards to sell. However, when I select cards it cuts the picture in half. How do I get the full picture on a card? Thanks

What would you like to do? It will be easier for me to help point out how to do specific things. You should be able to handle most functions from your "My Canvas" page, or from selecting from the "My Canvas" pulldown menu.

Yeah, we keep removing this person and they keep signing up with a new email address and username (which is similar to the one we just removed) It's irritation, and we're sorry for the trouble. They give up eventually after realizing that we keep catching them, and our members don't fall for this type of thing..
Hi, I've been invited to join a group, and I did. How do I post my art to the group's page?
After you've joined a group, there should be a drop down menu that appears next to the Group Name ... while you're on that Group's page. Use the drop down menu to select "Add Images" and then choose the ones you'd like to add from your previous uploads. --- Hope that helps a bit. If you need additional info, I'm glad to help. Just joined. Created a croup "EllsworthStudentArt". I'd like to add the logo but can't find a way.
To create an avatar for your profile, once you've uploaded artwork you can go into the Manage Artwork section .... click "Edit" for the folder that has the image you want to use ... then, under the image is a link that says "Make Profile Pic"
Clicking this will take you to a page where you can crop an area of the image to be used as your avatar. --- To do it for a Group, use the Control Panel and click "Settings" ... on that page you should find the option to select a Profile Pic for the Group avatar.
HEADS UP! Just wanted to let everybody know that there is a scam/grifter making contact with me through my Bluecanvas notification. The e-mail is from AliseBaby and I think this person even has a BlueCanvas account. He/she is asking for your bank account so that she can access her millions of dollars in her murdered father's bank account.

Click on "Groups" from the Community pulldown menu. Find a group you like, and click on it. Once your one the specific group page, next to the avatar image is a button titled "Join Group" ... just click that. You can only immediately join "Public" groups. Some groups require invites, or admin approval prior to participating. Hope that helps

Send me a message with what you'd like it changed to. We don't typically allow it as a standard function because we print usernames on certain products when sold, or in the magazine sometimes. If it changes, then the link becomes broken. But we can change it for you.

Sorry. I'm using the same format internet explorer, jpg file, 1.33mb. Nothing out of the ordinary. I did however switch to windows 8 although I didn't think that would have anything to do with it?
Most common issue we've seen is with the Flash Player installed. Maybe see if you need a Flash update?

Visit the page of the group you're interested in. Halfway down, on the left side, next to the group's avatar image is a button that says "Join Group" .... the group may require Admin Approval before you're officially a part of it.
It seems by definition that sculpture is a no no. Is that the case?
Not at all. We have a "Sculpture" genre you can select when uploading your work. There aren't as many sculpture works here, but we're certainly open to many forms of artwork.
Hi there! I'm loving Blue Canvas the more and more I visit! I seem to have hit a small snag on my profile that I wanted to ask you about. I have about 3-4 pieces that were uploaded when I first registered and I've tried a handful of times to go in and edit the titles and descriptions and it never saves and remains with 'no title' over them and nothing in the description. I'd hate to delete them and lose all the stars and support just to re-upload and add in the details. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!!
Hi geneseepaine! Welcome to Bc. Regarding your question, you may want to re-input the title and description and try re-saving. Sorry you're having trouble. As for artwork uploads, it may take longer that usual to appear on our site.

You can track your sales by navigating to "My Canvas" > Account Settings > Upper right corner "Seller Account"

Good morning...I am new to BC and had a couple simple questions...How do images get placed in the "spotlight" page. Also, many artists keep loading images that have many many starts and they seem to keep repeating the same upload... How is this done and is it acceptable... Thanks for your help... BC is a real eye opener for me because this is the first time I have shown my art in a public setting.. The feedback from other artists is invaluable! Keith
Hi Keith, welcome to Bluecanvas! In order for your artwork to be in the spotlight, it depends on other members giving you stars on your artwork as well as voting for your nomination. You do not need to upload same images twice. Other artists are not re-uploading the same images. Artworks are displayed randomly. We encourage you to join forums and mingle with fellow artists!

How do you get other members to coment on yoyr work? Do you just wait to see if anyone does, or is there a certain way of requesting coments? How do the stars work also. I know other members give them but do members try to aquire them or sit back and wait? How can you request nomination for publication, I dont have that icon on my profile page. Peers are your friends. If someone requests to be your peer, they want to be friends with you and possibly share their artwork and network.

Hi Richard, you cannot have a space for your profile name. You'll have to make it a one word or use dash or underscore.
