I began collage in 2005 at first mostly in black and white. In 2006 on New Years day in 44 degree celsius heat, I was sitting in front of the air conditioner with a pile of papers... I was determined I wasn't moving anywhere as it was too hot. That day I created my first strongly coloured collage. In February 2006, I started to try painting.

Over the last few years I've tried many things and my style has developed and pieces become larger and more professional.

I love working in mixed media - using collage elements, gel medium transfers, freehand drawing or painting, Neocolor I Caran D'ache wax oil pastels and generally working without worrying about the local colour of an object.

I rarely sketch in pencil, preferring charcoal or penl. I will employ any tactic or media that I cannot control. I am prone to perfectionism in my life so deliberately choose options I cannot fuss over in my art.

People are my favourite subject matter... yet sometimes I feel like an abstract instead.
