Roman Roth creates unconventional images that defy traditional definitions of landscape photography. The images are ethereal and appear not of this world or time with a surrealism and complexity that entrap the eye. Roth’s images capture the imagination of dreams and fairy tales with velvety textures.

Roth shoots on 2 1/4 film, processes and scans the images before spending hours or days using traditional photo lab techniques within a digital environment to enhance color saturation and contrasts. Printing on velvet or watercolor papers enhances the richness of the images.

Roth has worked as a full time commercial photographer for over a decade. His commercial focus is the open artistic palette and fast pace of fashion and lifestyle. The artist’s passion for landscapes stems from the visceral discovery process that brings new treasures with each turn in the road or trail. Roth is a native of Los Angeles.
