What Types of Personal Information Do We Collect?

During your visit to this site, we collect a variety of different types of information from you. Our collecting of this information will be limited to that which is reasonably necessary for you to participate in our site. We collect personally identifiable information (information that can identify you) only when it is voluntarily supplied to us by you.

Account Creation – When you create an account at Bluecanvas, we ask for your first and last name, and email address. You may optionally provide other information, such as gender, location, and interests. This information may be personally identifiable, but you are not required to create an account to browse our website. We highly recommend that you create an account name that does not contain personally identifiable information, as it might be seen by other users of the site, and that you choose a password that you do not use for other online sites, or that is not easily guessable. Additionally, if you purchase something from the site, we may ask for your billing and shipping address, telephone number, and credit card information. If you sell art through our site, we may ask for your tax number information or social security number. This information is used in order to process transactions at your request. Bluecanvas is not intended to be a website for use by children, and children 13 years of age or under may not register for accounts. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from children we know to be under the age of 13 years.

Surveys and Feedback – From time to time, we may conduct online surveys or provide opportunities for customer feedback. You will not be required to submit personally identifiable information to complete surveys or feedback, unless you choose to do so. Surveys, for example, might request your account name, or you might wish to "sign" any feedback you provide. Occasionally, we might use feedback as part of our marketing efforts, but will make sure not to include any personally identifiable information. If you wish to provide feedback or respond to surveys and other questionnaire, you may do so without providing any personally identifiable information.

Email to/from Us – If you contact us by email, we will respond to the email address you provide. You may also have the opportunity to sign up for newsletters and promotional and informational emails from Bluecanvas. We will send email to the email address you have provided to us.

Site Management – In order to ensure that you have the best possible experience on our site, we may use technology to monitor site activity, such as logging IP addresses and tracking which areas of the site are most frequently visited. In addition, we may also use cookies, which are messages sent to your computer from our site. Cookies help the site remember who you are, and may be used to provide a personally-tailored website experience. Bluecanvas may also monitor user clicks on advertising in order to target advertisers attractive to the users.

Safety and Security – We may collect personally identifiable information for the purpose of ensuring the security and integrity of the site, responding to law enforcement or judicial process, and for protecting the site against liability.

Do We Disclose Information to Other Parties?

Bluecanvas will not sell your email address or other personally identifiable information to any third parties for the purpose of marketing. Bluecanvas will only share such information at your request, in order to provide you products or services such as printing, framing, and shipping art, or as otherwise specified in this policy. Occasionally, we may also engage the services of a third party for website and transaction-related services, such as technical services, maintenance, and credit card processing. These third parties will be obliged to keep your information confidential and secure, and its use will be limited to the services they provide for Bluecanvas.

We will disclose personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with lawful court orders or requests from law enforcement. We may also disclose the information in order to enforce the Terms of Use agreement, or to protect the rights and safety of the site and its users.

Our site may contain links to other websites or advertisements that are not under our control. If you choose to navigate to a different website from a link on any of our pages, be aware that the site will have its own policies regarding privacy and personally identifiable information. Again, we reiterate that these other websites are not under our control, and you should ensure that you are aware of how that site collects and uses your information.

In the event that Bluecanvas is sold or transferred to another entity, all information will be transferred to that entity, including personally identifiable information.

How does Bluecanvas protect me?

Bluecanvas is dedicated to protecting the security of your personal information. We protect the security of your information during transmission by using 256-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layers) software, which encrypts sensitive information or billing details you input.

If a password is used to help protect your account and personal information, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Don't share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always choose to log out before leaving the site to protect access to your information from subsequent users.

How Do I Change My Personally Identifiable Information?

If you wish to review or correct any personally identifiable information we collect from you, you may login to your account and make any desired changes. To do so, click on the "PROFILE SETTINGS" option under the "MY CANVAS" tab. This page will provide you options on which information you wish to keep private. Please keep in mind that information you include in your account profile may be visible to other visitors of Bluecanvas. You are not required to provide information for your profile, upload a picture, or submit any information beyond that required for account creation.

If you make a post to Bluecanvas forums, chat rooms, or use any of the site's other functions, your account name and other information you choose to make public, such as art interests, location, gender, date of birth, and education may be visible to visitors to the site.
