Eek! I was wandering around in here looking to see if I missed giving something a star and I saw you have a BA in Psychology! I may have to worry now!
So which paintings are on cereal boxes? I also find it interesting that you did not major in art. I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm a music major with an art minor... It would be interesting to hear from you what its like being an artist without an art major.
Honestly, I think the majority of my old illustrations were on cereal boxes. It gives a look and texture that regular paper doesn't have. Aaaand at the time it was cheaper to recycle old cardboard than to go out and buy drawing paper XD. I majored in psychology in college but before that I tried majoring in the fine arts for a semester (and at least 5 other majors haha... i'm serious). I didn't enjoy it though. Actually, I ran out crying. I guess it came down to this. While majoring in art it turned art into a chore or work for me when really I needed an outlet for the stress in my life. It made me hate art and feel bad about myself. I know its not always the same for people and I'm not saying people shouldn't major in it or minor, it just didn't work for me that's all. My knowledge of the tools, the history, and lingo is still limited (I can tell every time I visit a friend's art class or follow a group of art students around a museum). I would be lying if I said I didn't learn anything with a few beginners classes or an art history class, but I feel I learned a lot by doing it on my own the past few years, at my own pace. Its fun exploring different techniques, different types of art that's out there in galleries or online, and asking other artists about their experiences. With galleries and art shows I just see what works and what doesn't by trying it all. That's cool your majoring in music :) I have a few friends who have done the same. I'm attempting to learn the guitar...
Thank you for the kind comments! 1929-Present is about my Grandmother. 1929 was the year she was born. The "apple wall", as I like to call it, represents her life and memory, as she aged, her memories got fuzzy. The apple represents the kitchen and her wonderful desserts in the home. Thanks again
Saw some of your work in the "most recent" gallery. Great portfolio, Angela! Really love your characters, your colors and compositions!

thank you for the stars!
