I was born in Houston, TX, and began my path in visual art through first learning how to draw from a "Technical Drawing" college textbook that belonged to my father. I found out at an early age that I am colorblind. My inability to view the world the way that others do has always worked to my advantage. It seems to reinforce a natural sense of design and contrast. Following high school, I became a freelance graphic artist and later studied art at University of Houston. I currently create packaging design and branding using traditional fine art, photography and graphic art. In addition to this, I am continually creating fine art that reflects my interpretation of the world as I see it. My passion is ink/watercolor and exploring shape and line forms with these mediums. I am continually working to push the designs further with each new drawing. I am inspired by Mayan art, as well as some of my favorite artists: Edward Hopper, Jean Dubuffet and Rick Griffin. I am particularly fascinated with psychedelic art and would classify my art as a contemporary extension of that style.
