Dear Mei Yan,

your work is really wonderful and very poetic. I would be interested to know whether it is traditional calligraphy, I mean do you bring predetermined characters in the most perfect form on paper, or do you let the brush move freely.
I am working also with signs and symbols. I make the type of "automatic drawing" (a technique of the Surrealists André Breton to) without a conscious thought, and then put them together in my own kind of alphabet.

Just beautiful. Chinese calligraphy is a strong influence in my work. You can probably tell. There's something so magical about black on white.
