Bluecanvas would like to thank everyone who attended our Issue 8 Launch Event. Because of your support, we were able to successfully launch Issue No. 8. As we did in the past, local artists were invited to show with us, however for this event, a few artists from out of state traveled with their artwork to join us on April 14. For this event, Scion provided their DJ Art Car, which was designed and conceptualized by Anthony Valadez, KCRW DJ. Many thanks go out to Mr. Valadez who stopped by to spin a set on his creation, entertaining the Bluecanvas visitors. We appreciate all who showed and attended, and a special thanks goes to all of our out-of-town and out-of-state guests and artists. It's always a great pleasure to meet each one of you and see the faces behind the artwork! Please peruse through the photos of the night and enjoy the new Issue, on sale now!
Dedicated to developing independent emerging artists, Scion encourages fresh, inventive talent to push creative boundaries in art, music and design and lends support through shows, tours, gallery events... and kindred partners like Bluecanvas.
Otis College of Art and Design is a four-year BFA program with five undergraduate studio departments. The Digital Media and the Communication Arts departments build on the traditional skills all students gain from our Foundation department. In Digital Media the students study the principals and concepts behind the art of visual storytelling. They learn the basics of everything that moves and tells a story, or supports that and then they choose to concentrate as animators, modelers, motion graphics, visual effects, or concept artists. Communication Arts concentrates on the printed page. The students learn from industry leaders, all of whom have production experience. The majority of our teachers are the senior artists or company owners in their various fields.
