Born in Brighton, 1967. Self-taught artist. Educated at home under parental supervision from the age of eleven. I joined the UK's National Acrylic Painters' Association in the 1990s having exhibited my work regularly, both locally and nationally, since 1987. I'm an entrant in the Who's Who In Art and attract modest success with consistent sales whenever I show my pictures. I am an aspiring novelist and self-published my first book, 'The Sage of Aquarius', in 2006. I write, and occasionally perform, poetry along with short stories, satirical sketches, comedy and black vignettes. I enjoy creating three dimensional artworks as well as painting in acrylics. I currently work as the assistant warden at Brighton Friends' Meeting House although I have done various jobs over the years including bar work, painting and decorating, copy-editing and serving in a greetings card shop. I lived in north Wales for eighteen months during my early twenties. Apart from that, I've stuck in my hometown. I have a clean driving licence but prefer life without a car. I have a great love of books and my current collection of 1, 200 paperbacks (largely fiction) has been substantially pared down in recent bursts of recycling. I am passionate about animals and have been vegetarian for over thirty years. My idea of utopia is a planet with equality of ALL species--an impossible dream! I mourn the fact that with today's unparalelled technology the human race remains fractiously splintered and enslaved by materialism. That life on every typical level involves constant entanglements with increasingly elaborate marketing ploys depresses and antagonises me. Have we come so far for so little, I wonder?

Do you like Dali and Picasso? Your work sems to blend some of their styles and flair but in a contemporary way.

Dear Julian,
itīs great how you combine figurativ elements with abstract signs. Very fresh, very inspiring and all very "positiv". Working in an informel way, it is not easy to find a style of its own. You got it.
