João Henrique Brandão was born in Curitiba, Brazil in 1981 and grew up around paintings, books, palettes, tubes of oil paint and spray cans. He has had several exhibitions in Parana, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo including a solo exhibition at the State Legislature of Parana, his home state. His work has been represented at private and public collections in Brazil, Canada, Poland and in the United States. Brandao is the first artist from Latin America to become part of the residency program at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in Bethany, CT in 2008. He has had his first NY Solo Show in 2009 at the M2 Ultra Gallery in Chelsea and today develops further studies at The Art Students League of New York.
