Hi Howard! Read your statement and I am moved to offer a small bit of advice offered to me, now so many years ago, "Keep Your Courage." The making of art is such an individual journey that one cannot, with any real value, always compare what you are creating with what someone else is creating! That is the beauty of being an artist! No one else can or will create work like you! Relish and be grateful that you have the urge to create art...so many millions of folks do not! Lastly, please don't head off to the woods as you mentioned, but instead get to your studio and keep creating the art you are moved to make, and take satisfaction that you have the motivation and desire to do so!! For what it's worth, all best to you =))!
