“H” Lives Art, Music Moves Her Brush is about Heather Wilkerson, a new artist, who uses music to create her art pieces.
She was born into a family of four children in Dayton, Ohio. As a young child, Heather embraced the creative side of her personality through self- expression whether it was through her clothes or her hairstyle. She discovered early-on that she had a deep passion and appreciation for the arts. She expanded her self-expression through music and dance. In high school, she danced in numerous dance productions and loved performing on stage. After high school, she joined the workforce behind a desk in the hustle and bustle of city life in Atlanta. But life behind a desk provided no outlet for her creative juices.
She eventually moved to the Georgia Mountains for a reprieve from city life. She was captivated by the natural beauty of the mountains. She discovered mountain life was rejuvenating her creative spirit. Heather became inspired by this natural beauty especially when listening to music. She felt a renewed sense to reconnect with her real passion for self-expression. This time she turned to the canvas. With music in the background, she picked up a brush and literally let the “music move her brush”.
As you look through her gallery of art, you will notice that her paintings are inspired by certain songs or by certain musicians. Other pieces are inspired by many different songs and many different musicians. While creating her art pieces, she plays music. She always plays music. She feels as though it is the music that moves her brush. It could be the lyric, the beat or perhaps the musical instrument. Or, it could be a single note. With a blank canvas and her brush in hand, she tells her story. It is the story of Heather living through her art but, as you now know, it is the music that moves her brush.
Heather's art pieces would enhance any gallery or wall or hallway or fireplace. But unlike other art pieces, you can also experience her art by listening to the music that inspired it. Heather's art allows you to use not just your sense of sight but also your sense of hearing. As Heather likes to say about her creative process, "From my soul to the brush, into the paint, I live". This Art Gallery is the story about her life, through art.
