thought of you Friday when we came upon a wild barn owl an hour's walk from home... had the wrong lens...so all I could do was watch in complete awe
...as he hovered and swooped on his prey in the marshes, while hundreds of birds raised alarm

sorry you had the wrong lens:( but so thrilled you got to witness a beautiful wild barn owl ♥ (i have yet to see one myself) aren't they the most magical birds? Part bird, part spirit, part alien and everything wonderful inbetween♥ xx

amazing owl shots btw - how do u manage to do this???? i have a thing for falcons and see them everywhere. but i cannot image being able to capture them so beautifully as you have done here. tho i did try to rescue one once off the highway. dicey!!
You really touched my heart with your kind words ♥ The owl shots...long story, I researched for weeks the closest snowy owl sighting and finally was able to find one. All my shots are of the same owl...She was thee most profound experience I have had. Every weekend I would sit in 20 below watching her, talking to her, etc. I have wept many tears when she fled...but my heart is full:) You have tons of falcons where you are? really? sweet of you to try and rescue one off the highway, how did that go?
wow. that is such a neat story. i am so impressed!! sad when u say how she left. i would have been talking to her too. i talked to the downed falcon on the side of the highway. i had my kids in the truck and i was trying to scoop up a hissing faclon reared back on its side with talons raised & ready to rip the u know what outta me. so i gave up. like i would have been able to handle it in the truck/driving too. crazy. so i called police. no help there. drove miles down the road to a vet - didnt know the # & they sent somebody out. i called later. they had to put her down. no repairs could be made to the wing i guess - was too far gone. :( so i really really appreciate your series here. super special experience for sure!!!

spent an entire day ice fishing. I have done it for years but have yet to figure out why i sit out on a frozen lake for 5 hours. I never catch fish and its kinda cold.
i started a new group called angels fallen. i sent you an invite. it is a group for any dark imagery or of Gothic angels. i am annoyed with the current angel group so i thought i would start a different one.
