Doug, I have enjoyed, both your gallery and your candid comments in forums, especially your back and forths with our friend kevin king
Thank you very much. I think we can all learn from each other, at times very seriously and at time with some fun and humor.
I very much love your work, Doug. The shadows are often so subtle and I keep finding myself lured in by them. Terrific.
D, do you know Thomas Schaller?
A friend of my cousins. He's very talented. But, I like your art much better. I have some house renovations to complete first, and the wife has said we are putting one of your works up. I agree. I don't have anyone's art on my walls, nor mine.
Wow Kevin. what a great compliment. I am humbled and thank you for that. I do admire Schaller's work, superb skill at watercolor and light. BTW: I am in the process of developing several archival digital prints of my work, soon for sale. They will be signed, limited editions, as well selected originals for sale.
Wow! Your work is amazing. I love the use of drastic shadows. I like how most of your paintings give that "hey didn't I just pass that yesterday" feel.
Thanks very much. I love painting the imagery of simple, regular parts of our urban and desert experience.
Beautiful work. Your technique is a treat to behold. I like them ALL!
Thanks for the stars and your gracious comments. You as well know how to master the water media. I totally love painting in just watercolor.
Thanks so much for the kind words! To answer your question on sizes: I do work quite a bit larger (I have paintings that approach 6' across), I've just been on a small works kick as of late.
To be honest Doug, I have never seen anyone handle watercolor the way you do. I wouldn't change a thing.
Thank you very much. I totally love the water media. That's all I have ever painted with. For me, it can do anything. But I also admire painters who use oil or acrylics.
Hey thanks for the comments Doug. I am a massive fan of your work.
Thanks Simon. Same here. I love how you tightly crop and edit your work. I want that element in my work as well.
Superb work - many of them do a great job pushing the realism limits of watercolors. Very nice use of design and architecure, plus some cool tromp 'loeil. Love the textures too!
every piece piece here shows your great attention not only to detail, but to the tone of the moment you've captured. Really and Truly great work(s) here. Beautifully executed.
oh my god, thank you so much Santiago. Means a lot to me. I take my work very seriously and appreciate your comments immensely. Your own work is so graphically powerful and strong.
you're so very welcome. your works really moved me. the "Backyard Banana" piece is pretty much amazing, one could almost feel the radiant heat the leaves are soaking in from the sun. glad you like me work too, coming from someone who's got such a great creative eye, it's much, much appreciated. and THANKS for the add too..!

Your work is terrific throughout Doug. I'm enjoying it!
