Glad to hear the Mertrout did well. Can you tell us more?
She was placed in a silent auction. I was pleased that she raised the most monies in the bidding, and the gentleman who purchased her said he was prepared to gomuch higher. This has inspired me to work on a series of illustrations to try and market while I continue to paint. A representative from another Trout Unlimited requested another Mertrout for their chapter. So I think I have a market for these in the sport fishing community. I also got my first commission for a portrait yesterday...so I am pretty psyched about these potential shifts in my ability to sell work!
thanks for asking....the thing that scares me though....is I wish someone would manage the business side of this all...I can hustle the art...but I get all generous when it comes to selling myself!
Such great news Dierdra, you are so talented. I know you will do great things. Maybe you can find someone to give you advice or help you in promoting yourself and not being too generous. Go Dierdra!!!!!

Thank You Rose....We are pretty happy here at my home...things are well and recovery is amazing...it will most likely be a couple days before i get paint on my hands again... but i feel it coming!

Thank you ,I used to work at an animal hospital and was given a crow to nurse back to health after it was shot . Great ending ,I released him where he was found and whenever I walked my dog in that area he would come down and fly tree to tree as we walked.

What brand of acrylic paints do you use?
I am using Holbein Matt acrylics. They are a bit more expensive, but I really like the body and feel of them. Plus I feel good knowing that I am using a really quality product. (if I ever should happen to sell ANYTHING!)

show is still hanging...and getting very good reception. Sold one print to someone who came to the show..nice. I am painting for a small show (5 pieces or so) that I hang this week. I am hoping that something will sell...I really need the income to keep painting like I do...I am making such ground being able to paint like this. So...I guess the show is going very well, thanks for asking!
