Submission Requirements:

Submit 10 images and a 500-word essay to contest@bluecanvas.com. Subject Line: LAAFA/Bluecanvas. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2013


The Prize(s)

1st Place: $10,000 Scholarship towards LAAFA's entertainment art degree or certificate program

2nd Place: $6,000 Scholarship towards LAAFA's entertainment art degree or certificate program

3rd Place: 10-week in-class or online scholarship for LAAFA's extension program


Artwork

Each applicant must submit five different traditional two-dimentional artwork pieces and five different two-dimensional or three-dimensional digital artwork pieces. Images of work should be in JPEG format. Images should be as close to 800x1200 pixels and 72 DPI, and emailed as an attached zip file with your first and last name. The JPEG must also be large enough to show your entire piece (do not crop your artwork). Each JPEG must be labeled with a number and the artist's name. Include a list of portfolio works with your submission. Include numbers corresponding to the images submitted, as well as title of work, descriptions of piece, concept and/or subject matter, size, medium, and completion date. Submissions are limited to original artwork only, completed within one year of the entry date. No Master copies allowed.


Essay

You must include a 500-word essay explaining your ultimate career goals as an artist and how you would use your LAAFA education to further your goals.

Terms & Conditions

Grand Prize and Second Place Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance to LAAFA's Entertainment Art Degree or Certificate Program. Upon accepting the scholarship, the recipient must begin his or her studies in LAAFA's Spring or Fall 2013 term. The recipients must maintain a 3.8 GPA or higher during their studies at LAAFA. A GPA of less than 3.8 during any given quarter may result in the loss of scholarship credit. Entertainment Art Program Scholarships will be applied as credit, divided evenly throughout each twelve quarters for the duration of the program. Third Place Scholarship can be used for select three-hour 10-week classes, based on availability. Scholarships have no cash value.
