Shifting
July 19, 2012
Shifting plates, sands sweep
away memories. Hearts drift,
solid fondations melt
flowing to a river
coursing through
the paths of the seas,
forming another body
of water and the land
now buried.
Evolved, a place of dry
and life is crying
weathered away to young.
Rebuild. Rebuild trust
from a broken city, ruined
by sands that have
swept the land with course air,
where clouds forget to weep.
If the dew of hope will
graciously make an entrance
settling softly on the land despaired,
springing a delicate fold of care
of newness and beginning
to replant and rebuild.

I come from good stock when it comes to writing. I will give you the best constructive criticism I can. Be happy with this work. It's really good. That's my advice. It's well written. It flows nicely. The narrative doesn't digress. The meter and timing are delicate and precise which makes this easy on the mind to engulf. Well done.

I missed this along the way Alli - and I want to come back and reread this several times. But your phrasing here is just exquisite - lines that will haunt me, I think, for a long time. Congratulations!!
