Glad to be out and about this summer.
Doing a lot of shopping for showing spaces, while still hanging at the Public Library.
Painting is looking less daunting; trying to unpack the layers in my own artistic talent and then translate those ideas to the canvas.
Also find myself finding lots of old frames, all headed towards the garbage until I get to rescue them victoriously for my own use. Its great realizing that people before me did some of the same things as me. That I can keep doing these things now. Even with all the rumors about how terrible the economy is I feel like work is out there; however I do feel the frustrations of volunteerism hitting me at the grocery. These things pay off and I am not worried. It really like getting a free masters degree. Just a starving artists way of doing so. Just biding my tim and making enough work to actually house a one person show!
With glassblowing a constant reminded of my retirement in art I am always looking for the next way in. Fortunately there are multitudes of excuses to delay such a drowning dream. Can I just watch live glassblowing for the rest of my life? Please! Anywho.
Watching CNBC money channel now and hoping that some investors still exist out there. Especially some looking to invest in contemporary art. All I hear is that contemporary art investing is up so good news there.
Still I have thoughts and investments in education. Love my teaching job and someday it would be nice to teach like Algebra or something in high school. I'd be stoked. You know glass blowing on the weekends, home free.
Getting there, 25 is kind of a limbo and what not, but it is fun to think about the possibilities before they are handed to me.
I swear I will get some photos up soon. Lots of works in progress.
