The last week of this month I will introduce myself to a local art leaque. I suppose it's one way to get out and finally make contact in person with fellow artists. I'm self-taught for the most part. I took portrait lessons from a painter in Napa many years ago, lanscape painting lessons in San Francisco when I lived there. Plus another set of lessons from another artist in Livermore. Each helped me along the way gain more insight to what makes a painting work. Of course I'm talking technique here for each of us...I think...have to make our own voice heard...or seen in this case. Difficult at times, since none of my paintings have a general style. It's all practice...always practicing I suppose. We continue to improve and somehow work towards an invisible goal of self fulfillment. Ah...too philosphical now. Painting is fun and creation alone can be our guide, what else can it be?
