In time
December 20, 2011
An evanescent layer of nothing
Asphyxiating me relentlessly
Like a heavy soaked cloak
I can't shake
Yet
Entangled in unfinished lines
Belittled by unspoken words
A twisted transformation
I can't reverse
Yet
Thoughts bicker with memories
A brainstorm fabricating questions
Each leading to another 'why?'
I can't answer
Yet
Overthrown by infinite emotions
Trying too hard to keep my sanity
Breaking defenses, the tears
I can't stop
Yet
I may feel heavy now and so so small
Confused, despaired and hurt
But I embrace it all knowing I'll grow
Your memory will make me smile
In time

Dear, dear Rosie, without you and my other friends here at BC I would never have dared to set foot in the (english) poetry section ...... Your encouragement has brought me this far and I am very very thankful for that! Writing helps me to find peace of mind. Touching other people's hearts and sharing feelings is a superb bonus to that.

So, thank you Rosie, my warmest wishes for you hun! xoxoxox

Beautiful poem, Mieke! The balance between despair and hope is delicate but resilient...

Thank you Sister! Well noticed. Writing it down gave me a lot of inner peace. I am more resilient than I ever was, so I'll be okay. Wishing you happy and creative holidays! xoxox

This piece sounds like an echo of my own heart, Miek - which is why it just resonates so deeply for me. And yes...I understand not yet...but in time. And the profound lessons to be learned in the meantime and the opening and recreating of self that will take place. I quite love this, my friend. xoxo

Letting go is the hardest thing of all, my dearest friend, it takes patience, persistence and a lot of tears, but ... in time I'll feel 'richer'. As it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. My two gorgeous boys are here to be hugged and to hug me, it's almost as if they sense I need it more now. We'll make it a warm and joyful Christmas no matter what! Thanks so much, dear Lianne! Happy holidays! xoxoxox
