Getty Images WTF

I'd really like to know why I need a model release for a picture of a monk wearing a full face mask in order to pass review on Getty Images--the subject in question is most definitely not recognizable by anyone, not even his own mother! I finally got clarification from Getty on what the deal is--apparently if there is even the slightest possibility that the individual (s) in the photo could indentify themselves, then a model release is required. Over the top in my opinion (I mean, I could claim I was dressed up as a Stormtrooper in somebody's Star Wars covention photo and they'd never know--but I guess that's a moot example since they'd never get permission from Lucasfilm to publish it commercially in the first place) but cie la vie...

interesting... didn't know that... I thought if the subject was not recognizable, it's not illegal... assuming that's what they're trying to avoid... hm...
