The intricately stone carved monuments and architecture produced by ancient central american cultures is not only beautiful but contains an elaborate system of recording information. This artistic form of knowledge inspired me to create an illustration which would reflect a similar style of expression. The balance of mind and temperament are obtained through a universal source of infinite power and wisdom. That source also binds together elements of the material world and provides us with harmony in our existence. The illustration depicts various aspects found in our daily lives such as day and night, war and peace, life and death, and represents a foundation of life provided to us through the accomplishments of our ancestors.
