Born on the Chime Hours
Comments
And I was born during the rush hour on whatever day Nov 27 1965 was. . . looks like a Saturday (how convienent) find your day at: http://www.mathsisfun.com/games/dayofweek.html
I love the stories that could cone from this
I need to get back to these...I have been working on another project and abandoned this theme for a bit
I was often sent into that dark room by my father to get something for him. I am still afraid of the dark. But this is not as frightening as sad for me now.
Hmmm.....maybe you should make a habit of taking a fresh Mojito with you everytime you go into a dark room. You'll be a bit more festive than sad and scared. I was always afraid of drowning so I got over it by taking a rack of ribs into the bathtub with me.
What if I was born, like, on a Thursday...around, say, 4 PM? I don't have second sight but I am near sighted.
I love your vivid imagination. The art you're making reminds me of the Grimm Fairy Tales designed to put the fear into kids ! Maybe so they would behave properly, or else ! Every drawing in your collection is enchanting.
my third eye has opened, I hear the chimes of a haunting dawn while the rattle of midnight approaches
Great comment! Although, I'd instead of my Third Eye being opened- I rather have the door opened so I can run out of there!
its beautiful, this is off the paintings topic but it reminds me of the illustrations of a series of unfortunate events meeting pirates of the Caribbean
You have a qulity like nestor redondo. I work with him on some animation feature. the guy was awesome!
Very nice to see this old style pen and wash revisted like this. I'm a huge fan of this kind of work. Really great stuff, wow!
Love this piece...I wasn't aware of this particular superstition but have often wondered about little ones who seem to talk to their invisible friends :))
I knew a "little one" who used to talk to "invisible friends". His name was Hector. He was a Mexican midget with schizophrenia.
I think my little dog was born on the Chime hours:)) When everything feels nice and cosy he suddenly looks spooked as he stares at the hallway...and then I'm spooked.
Sorry for intruding, but you just reminded me of an old ghost movie I just watched called The Uninvited. Actually quite good, and it mentions quite a bit how animals react to ghosts.
It is not common knowledge, but dogs and cats are well aware of the human fear of the supernatural and so they like to play dirty tricks on us by pretending to stare at something in the hallway or closet. The dog or cat will take advantage of our crippling anoesis and pilfer money or credit cards from the nightstand.
This reminds me of a tale I read once. And while i do not "see" ghosts, I will swear that I have heard them more than once.
awe I want to laugh and be sad at the same time, I love how your work pulls such emotion from the viewers. :)
SWEET,,LOVE
You know, I have thought about changing my street name to Sweet Love. I was going to go with 2-Ply Shakur.
So THAT"S why I can't see em? It all becomes clearer. Oh! And your illustration is wonderful! I love the style.
The Best !!!!!
The Best! I've been called that before. If won Best Breed in a dog show twice. I never quite get used to the judge running his hands down my haunches though.
*Q* drewling over the tale/description
Drooling!? I can't have just drooling. You'll like a simpleton, you should clap while drooling! I can handle clapping and drooling!
There are many things I love about this one, but my favorite are the woman's expression and that hair. I love the way you paint hair!
Psst....another secret- I spend a lot of time practicing drawing hair. I have piles of sketches dedicated to hair in various shapes on various heads.
Excus... uh excuse me, hi! My name is Lance and they told me you have a back room where you are selling the pictures of the hair. I am specifically seeking various shapes of hair and preferably on various heads. Can you help me out?
Beautiful work, Kevin. And I have no idea what beer goggles are.
When you have imbibed enough brewskis...the very, very unattractive become very, very attractive. Hence- you are looking through beer-goggles. It is a guy thing. I should note- YOU would NEVER be viewed through beer-goggles. (Although, you are likely to have someone look at you from behind a tree, through a crack in the fence. Stalking is just another way of saying- I REALLY LOVE you).

I would like to live in a haunted house. But, I want a ghost that was a butler. He could answer the door and bring me cigars. Also, it would be great if the haunted house had a ghost maid, ghost gardener and ghost chauffer. I suppose that's unrealistic so, I plan on winning the lottery and then buying a mansion and hiring a staff to walk around wearing white sheets.
