Description: a commissioned piece, oil on canvas 20" portrait of Bjork
she was wearing that tshirt in the reference photo, i apologise to those of a sensitive nature. but it only seemed true to Bjork to leave her choice of words in!!

painting is wet and shiny making this photo not a true representation but i just wanted to post anyway :) the background was a departure and a true test for me, asked to paint it loose and bold i was well outside my comfort zone, but palette knife in hand i soon discovered new painting pleasures!

and along the way found out that Bjork is a real icelandic name meaning 'birch tree'

Darling, this is just perfect. I just grinned big when I saw it. I am such a fan of hers and so this choice of photograph to do the painting for is ideal. Very nice!
