Description: The temptation with this piece is to refrain from titling it "last lullaby", as I cling, in the same way this crying babe does, to the shreds of hope remaining for so many species sharing the planet with us. Those of you who know me well, know the survival of this most beautiful species has been a cause I keep close in my heart, and much of the art in my gallery attests to how much I am moved by their deep feelings and our connections with them.
I could also have titled this work "ancestors" except much of the time i wonder who is leading whom in this race for survival, and how central the competition is to life itself, from the very first sparks of life creation. All of life for me is sacred, and holds the sacred, at times seemingly dormant when we observe our own species, but nevertheless deep within, i feel it there, and wish to share that conviction with you through my art.
This week marks a milestone for me personally, as it is three years since i joined my first art community online, and was surprised and inspired at rb to gradually start to create and express my own experience of the world through the medium of photographic art. And it is a year and a half now since i moved here to BLUECANVAS, where I feel so happy to be with you, and so endlessly inspired by the beautiful souls here, the great art, and the incredibly rich and artistic community we have, where i feel so aligned and in commune with the primary focus on our art. It is a great joy to share with you all here at BC, and I thank-you and thank BC for that sincerely.
This work is all my own original work, shot with a NIKON D90, and Sigma 50-500mm handheld lens, in awfully difficult conditions at the time... Re-editted in pse10 using my own layers and textures.
