Shall We Gather At the River
Comments
This is lovely Lianne, love the way she is stilling off to one side, perhaps weighing where she is in all of this. Beautiful.
You've caught exactly the dilemma here Rosy - a lot of joy but many questions perhaps. xo Thank you.
LIANNE CONGRATULATIONS YOUR WORK HAS BEEN FEATURED AT THE BLUE FRIDAY LOUNGE!! You are invited to post your comments and Featured Work at the link to the BLUE FRIDAY LOUNGE in the next 48 hours, and join us in some fun & conversation at weeks’ end among friends at the BLUE Lounge… http://groups.bluecanvas.com/BLUE/forum/post/2852
Love the water connection Lianne, maybe it helps us find our peace and balance--given it's always seeking it's own.
So wonderfully peaceful and joyous.
Thank you so much Fred - in a way it's a bit of a puzzle - as if she doesn't quite belong with this particular celebration. This is an enormously personal statement for me - I'm not even sure where it came from xoxox
I'm looking at this piece and now humming the song that matches the title, nice and peaceful like.
Lol - gosh that's exactly what I hoped for with this series. Life gets so crazy sometimes that it's nice to be peaceful for a bit. Thank you so much Paula!
A paradise to renew oneself in. It's always wonderful to read your words and stay a while to feel oneself in the image.
You say the loveliest things Laureen and it's so special that you put yourself right into every scene. Thank you so much for that. xo
Very lovely image and I'm humming the song you posted :)
Awww - it is catchy - I've been singing it for days (not that you'd want to hear me do that!) But thank you Nina.
Beautiful work my dear friend. Hope every thing is well! :-)))
It's been up and down dear Eitan but I'll be by to catch up I promise!! I've missed my daily dose of my friend Eitan!! xox
Such serenity here my friend - very beautiful work.
Thank you Rosa - I suppose this Simple Life series is about serenity or at least some kind of contentment in an increasingly troubled world. I'm glad you felt it. xox
Gorgeous ... I just saw Oh Brother Where Art Thou on tv the other evening ... this could be straight from the movie!!!!
What a fabulous thing to say Lois - it's one of my favorite movies and I love the old 30s bluegrass music in it. Thank you thank you!
Congratulations Ramon! I chose thisimage for feature in the Friends group. Go to the July 2012 Friends Feature Chain forum at http://groups.bluecanvas.com/Friends/forum/post/2845 and post your image. Then post your choice for the next feature. Thank you!
Lianne there you go again bringing back childhood memories. Growing up in the bible belt, this was a common occourence many years ago. And now Im trying to get the song out of my head. hehehehe. Beautiful work my friend.
Awww - I love when that happens!!! Your latest posts have gone right to my heart too - resurrecting feelings and longings I didn't even know I had. I just haven't had the wherewithal to get in to tell you just how much I love them. Thank you hon. xox
My dear friend- oh wow- you brought back that wonderful film for me, and memories for Mick, who grew up riverside... the lush beauty and nostalgia for the simpler days for many... Lianne this is just idyllic and exuding so much that was pure. Wishing you a better week with your health dear Lianne- we all love you here xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ah Rosie my dear friend - I just KNEW you'd love that movie...lol. One of my favorites. And how wonderful that Mick liked it too...that just tickles me no end! Wonder if you had any thoughts about the fact that the young woman was NOT "gathered" into the fold here. Just because we long for simple faith or simpler times doesn't mean we fit there, does it?? xoxoxo
reading your replies and just thinking that I feel like you do too, sometimes. Sometimes I don't feel I fit in to a certain group and that being a religious one or others ones too. And, they (the religious group) really don't notice me or even care too, which draws me further away instead of engaging me to bring me on in. I can relate to that very well.

I saw this a few days ago!! But, forget to comment. ;(. Love the soul searching and truth in this. Prayer will move mountains and miracles too! The one woman must be praying and contemplating? Great series, Lianne!

Contemplating for sure Alli - but she's apart from the others because she doesn't quite fit. She has faith yes, but not their certainty and no clear and simple answers. Still, this is the faith that shaped her initial view of the world so she maintains some link to the foundations.

Beautiful.
