Description: Also known as the "Sacred Blue Cenote", (a sink-hole), Ik kil is located a couple of miles away from Chichén Itzá. It is an an open cenote about 85 feet from the surface so one has to walk down stone steps in order to reach the water. On this particular sweltering day, the place was naturally packed with people wanting to cool off. I did not get a chance to get in the water but did take this picture, well I took a few, from the entrance to the cenote.
Great shot, Rosa! When I was in Playa del Carma. Did a tour thing and took a canoe through one of the cenotes that lead to the ocean. It was real beautiful.
