I think when we take that step to the edge, we see things we never saw before, sometimes beautiful worlds. I think this is a powerful statement Ramon, when we reveal what's inside, we do feel naked on the outside... I think the pose is in keeping w/your statement, part is holding on and part is pushing... taking that first step even though it's uncomfortable, very poignant piece.

Joanne, what a wonderful amd insightful comment. Thanks so much for your support.

If red equals anger then anger equals fear, try exploring what you are angry about and then you find the fear.

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 27, 2012

Good point. For me red can represent anger, but for me the image represents complete destruction and loss.

Posted by bernsgilnamurphy on June 27, 2012

Yes, but how does that come about ? Through anger a secondary emotion, or fear the primary one, and naturally, one is to be afraid of destruction and loss... nice legs btw :)

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 27, 2012

Fear and anger over loss but I think primarly fear. Thanks jejjee

Ray, I knew instantly that this was yours, despite how different it is from your usual work. I feel that it was born from the earlier piece you posted, "I will rise again". A very raw and honest image that speaks to me of vulnerability, isolation and pain, both physical and mental. I hope you continue to explore these red zones that lie outside of your comfort zone.

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

fRed, thank you so much. It was actually done very near the time of the other piece. I wanted people to feel a punch in the gut when they saw it. Thanks for your support. I am still sweating from posting this one. hahahaha.

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

interesting comment about exploring those red zones. I really had not thought so much about how red for me is something attractive yet dangerous and that the works I have posted that make me the most uncomfortable are most surely red.

Posted by rodeorose on June 26, 2012

The Red Zones!!

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

I think we are onto something here.

Posted by aashton on June 26, 2012

Red means a lot to people. I wonder how anger plays into this. Not that anger is a bad thing, it's a real feeling of powerlessness and power I believe

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

Very good point Alli, and I like that you said powerlessness and power.

Posted by aashton on June 26, 2012

I agree with Lianne. Troubling but honest. Isn't that what we all strive for honesty?

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

Yes, Alli, we should thanks for your support

This is a tremendously powerful piece Ramon - I have a very visceral response, empathy, as if I can feel the pain...which feels like emotional pain to me. Fabulous...daring...and worth it! xoxoxoxo

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

Aww Im blushing, cant you see the red? Thank you so much. Again your response is exactly what I was going for, so mission accomplished. Xoxoxxoxoxoxoxox

well, hello...my what red feet you have....actually, this is very troubling to look at, but then that's the power of photography, eh, to impact the viewer, however that impact may result...good for you for taking a risk. :-)

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

Thanks so much Val, I am very pleased with your comment "Troubling to look at" I was hoping for that kind of response. Love ya XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Ramon...i love when we step outa that zone...this is sooooo strong!

Posted by ramonfernandez on June 26, 2012

Thanks my dear, makes me nervous, but that is a good thing. Never be complacent. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Posted by rodeorose on June 26, 2012

We ought to maybe do a Lounge inviting shots from beyond the comfort zone.... this definitely fits here please Ramon- http://groups.bluecanvas.com/BLUE
