Image details
Description: Photo taken with Canon IXUS 80 IS and edited with Lightzone. SIMPLICITY is my niche! Image captured August 2011 in my garden in Brisbane QLD Australia.
One member of a group of Rainbow Lorikeets feeding on the nectar of grevillea flowers in my garden. These birds are Australian native parrots. Beautiful and comical they may be, but they're noisy little buggers! I wouldn't have it any other way though. I'm very pleased with this photo. I think it's the soft light that makes it work well. The other photos taken at the time were too blue, but this was from a different angle and was a one-off capture :D

It was a lucky shot but I'm really happy with it, particularly the soft light. Cheers again, Ramon, and for the star too :D

Thanks very much, Jethro. These guys have been going crazy these past few days. Spring is here and many native plants have come into bloom. I think they get totally smashed off their faces on nectar. I quite often see them hanging upside down from the branches so that would account for it. Cheers mate :D
