Their body language and facial expressions are terrific. It's as if they are patiently waiting but fidgety in the moment. I also love the color palette. Great work!
This is just sublime Judy - I think of my mother and her friends, the images of women in the 40s and 50s who would never be caught dead in pants or without a purse!! What wonderful memories this evokes! Love it.
thanks lianne;-)) I came across the photo (there was a child behind them which I left out) they looked so solid and formidable and reminded me of the witches in Shakespeare , and yes there is also a wonderful aspect of the feminine which we sometimes see missing today..I exaggerated the wind in their hair (which was tightly permed of course and hardly a wisp out of place) to tie them to the elements.
