Description: City icons caught in the morning light on an absolutely gorgeous Autumn day on Sydney Harbour, April 2010. It’s one of those perfect days where the cares of the world are put aside, even if only for a day. Come to think of it, the weather was like this all week, and I was on holidays. Oh bliss! A dear friend and I did the bridge climb later this same day, and it was an awesome experience!
My inspiration for this photo came from a similar photo taken by an Australian artist of international renown, David Moore. I’m fairly certain his was taken from Blues Point Reserve, NW of the bridge on the city’s Lower North Shore. It’s a photo I have always loved because it captures the essence of the city, and is in his book 'Sydney Harbour.' Here, his photos range from 1947-1992 and is a real time capsule of awesome documentation and photography. I was on the ferry approaching Circular Quay this particular day, so when I saw the same view I just had to take a shot.

I was pleased with it myself. It was a crystal-clear day and I was just in the right spot. It's always nice to be on the water, and Sydney has plenty of it :D

LOL. A tart of a town she most certainly is! Lots of other things too, but the beauty of Sydney is... she doesn't give a damn! I'm a water baby too and I miss Sydney for that; the harbour, Pittwater, the beaches, etc. Glad you like the pic, Rosie, and cheers for the star :D
