Hi Luis - The spiderweb is made from two copies of a pattern created in Apophysis, which is a free software program (for Microsoft Windows) you can download from the Sourceforge website. The program generates 100 patterns at a time. When you want to use a pattern, render it in Apophysis and export it as a JPEG (I use ImageConverter for this) for further work. I build my images in CorelDraw. I can see from your BlueCanvas pages that you love pattern so Apophysis might be worth exploring. The interface is a pain but I can help you set it up.
Marvelous work, Jim. Did you use Chaoscope for the spider web, or are those only brushstrokes? I love how the long parts seem like mantis forelimbs. The color and the contrast are very nice.
Interesting sense of depth in this one. Some lines appear to recede, others project. The lighter brown masses behind the darker ones seem distant. Also, thanks for the star!

Thank you Karen. I used to put one piece at a time in my cube at Fidelity. This was present the day my whole group was laid off. Hmmm.........

Your eye for noticing the world up close, out of contest serves you well in your dynamic, but graceful compositions. This is my favorite.
