Shortly before the completion of this composition which was a long and torturous process I hate to say, I felt I was still missing something central so I texted my model and asked her to give me seven words describing how she felt during the creation of this piece. I was expecting some simple adjectives to help me feel comfortable with what I had captured but instead I got "alive and free, embarrassed as should be" followed by "blissfully awakened by warm hands of embrace." Suddenly the drawing wasn't about her, it WAS hers, and so I put aside my pride, and put her words where I knew they belonged. I still don't understand this piece fully but I think she does, and I can rest easy on that.
I dreamed we were falling

This piece is so strong. The image is painful, but the words are so uplifting. The juxtaposition is very unsettling. Really great work, Brian!
