Thank you so much, Rose! I have submitted my work into the link given above, with a little more info about the painting :) Chris
Stunning. The colors, shading, as well as the tone of the artwork all jell well together. I love how the darker fish stands out. He really makes the picture. He looks so sad though. I hope the other fish will befriend him soon. Anyway, beautiful artwork Chris.
Hi Calliope - Yes, he's sad.... for good reason: as a 'bit of an outsider', he feels rejected by the veiltails - though, as you say.... he 'hopes' they'll invite him to play soon.... Thanks :)
My first impression was precisely what you described in your post to miamia....I like the way your arty brain works ;) VLP
Thanks for reading into that, Viktoria! For me (at least), the idea comes first... the image-making is almost a secondary kind of thing ;)))
sweet
The intention was nver 'sweetness' here - more to show the feeling of isolation and depth of quality in relation to skittishness and superficiality;)
I love the Asian feel of this piece... of course, I would!
And so you ought! I've always held a deep fascination for east asian art - more particularly that of the Edo period, so guess that comes out in a lot of my work stylistically - and of course painting carp (or in this case goldfish) it felt so 'right' to lend them that feel :)
This is beautiful. The colors of the black Moor are stunning. Makes me thing of Beta fishes. Nice work!
love the contrast
Hey there Jef! Thanks so much :) Your work is really incredible, so I feel truly honored you should say that - thanks :)))
