Very good materialization! I can almost touch the paper bag!

Posted by aimsumo2012 on April 16, 2012

THANK U!! i thought - oh - no big deal - i will paint a big paper bag. well...lots more working than i imagined it to be. . . outta practice from the days of painting ppr bags in college. :)

Did you notice how it's harder to paint something so simple in the nature? I just love those motives, they make you sweat! Ha!

Posted by aimsumo2012 on April 16, 2012

yeah - sweat and cry!! so many times i was close to giving up. but that is just not in my nature... and acrylic paint does not help either. much prefer when i was able to use oils.. whaaaa.

I, too, love the touchable art form. I have worked with blind and visually impaired people and had art exhibits which contained tactile art - and it was so appreciated. Also one artist created a number of pieces and the worked with poets to create new poems for each piece and THEN had a person on our staff actually BRAILLE the poem directly on the photo art. It was truly spectacular! Thanks for sharing your good work.

Posted by aimsumo2012 on March 26, 2012

wow! that is so wonderful that you have done this & given back in such a unique way. also - the poem and braille! SUPER idea!! i was in a gallery that had poets write about the pieces that they connected with and then at the opening came in to read with tthe works there. so fun. would make for a fun group idea here at BC - to combine the visual with the artists who are also writers.

Intriguing. Love the magnet idea.

Posted by aimsumo2012 on March 19, 2012

it was hilarious to watch people timidly approach the ptg & look around to see if it was ok to touch it. i will load up a pic of it at the show. :)

Posted by morraha on March 19, 2012

Yeah, I would have sat back and laughed before I told them they could play. :P

Posted by aimsumo2012 on March 19, 2012

definately did that! most esp loved the mom and dad who said "this is the ONLY piece you can touch here". the boy gave the face 3 mouths and 6 eyebrows!!

Posted by morraha on March 19, 2012

HAHAHA! I love that! Good for him. :D
