sometimes in popping out colors and shadows would be to add a little bit of the complementary color to the main color you're using (such as put some purple with yellow or green into a red dress). your paintings are pretty cool. they remind a little of manet and mary cassat, especially in the dress.

my favorite impressionists are manet, monet, cassat, and moriset (i think thats how you spell her name). i like the movement and simplicity yet complex painting styles they have.
