I wonder if the child will remember this scene...Val it brings back memories when I travelled overseas as a child and encountered begging for the first time in my life...I can never forget it. This is such a deeply moving shot...xxx

Hi Rosie, this girl is an Indian girl. Not sure how often she and her family travels, but she is from India, so I don't think any of this was so far from her norm...So glad you like the shot! :-)

I found the same thing in Rome when I visited years ago, old women living in cardbox cartons on the steps of churches, broke my heart, this is so very sad, makes you wonder what the child is thinking x

Posted by valerierosen on February 14, 2012

Absolutely makes me wonder what the child is thinking... thanks, josie! :-)

Oh my Val - this one image is a book on learning compassion and justice early. How profound this is.

Posted by valerierosen on February 01, 2012

Indeed, Lianne. Truly heart-breaking. :-(
