Description: The Masquerading Selves is a self-portrait taken from photographic artist Jaeda DeWalt’s series of the same name and is a part of the DeWalt Gallery collection.
Self-portrait photographed with a digital camera and remote control. Hair, styling and make-up also created by Jaeda DeWalt.
About this Image:
This image was inspired by a beautiful masquerade mask, that my friend Adair, loaned to me. I created the faces at the bottom of this image by taking a couple portraits of my face, from varying angles. I then fashioned them into masks. The image speaks to the various social masks we wear every day.

you are right.....we are wearing a social mask....but we have also a personal mask, destined to provoke our of recognizing....The image is somehow, comical, the masks at the boots.level quite human like are challenging specially the one of the left...trying to look for my attention. There is a strong sense of humour in this picture that I love. Greatly done, Jaeda...and really great the choosing of this white and seleftive coloring...splendid and sensual.

this one amy take some looking at. yourone mask on the floor look allmost taunting. like it knows something and is begging to be worn. the other is filled with sorrow. And the person is the fask looks at them quizzically as if it is not sure which is better. yet intrigued with them. sorry if i am looking at to much of your work. i am just having fun now.
