superfluous, Bah! anyone who dives into the deep- dreams that this lay on the surface of the ocean! Beautiful
I love the way this collage works so well!
Thanks a lot! I am old school when doing collage and assemblage work, so there is a lot of piece work, cutting fitting, blending, etc. It's really nice when it works as I envision it to!

I enjoy the tone of this mixed media collage it has a historic or time piece feel.

Hi Michael! Thanks for your observation and kind words!! I, too, get a "historic" feel...much is due to the color palette! Glad you like!

Curiosity has me... what size do you typically create these style pieces in? I think this is fab!!
Posted by jethro61 on February 23, 2013
Hi Kari! I am delighted you like! This piece is approximately 12 x 15 inches. However, they vary depending on whether paper or digital works. My traditional paper based collage works usually don't exceed 22 x 30 inches...that is large for me. More generally they are up to 16 x 20 inches. and as small as 3 x 5 inches. My digital collages are constructed in two ways. One is to assemble w/o pasting the pieces and photographing several possible combinations (adding or subtracting elements), then working up in PS and CD. The second way is to assemble everything within the digital work space using (PS and CD) and my archive of images photographed over time to be used as the digital analog to my paper collage image archive. Basically three different ways, sometime used singly, other times in combination one with the other. Once in digital form, thye resolution (72 or 600, etc.) will determine the maximum size of the work that can be printed as a giclee/print. Thanks for asking, and for your visit and star!
