Description: Photograph of the Colorado River at Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. The trailhead for this view is located about 3 miles south of Page, Arizona, USA. You climb up an incline in very loose sand and then continue on for about 3/4 of a mile. Once there the view is worth it. It is not for the faint of heart as there are no guard rails to view the great bend in the canyon. Best time of day to view is actually when one would not normally think of taking a photo - 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. The sun directly overhead allows both sides of the canyon walls to be seen without shadows.
Hi Lucinda! It's so hot here today, though I might as well enjoy the real SW! I'd be delighted if you would post this one =))! I chose your work for feature in the BLUE FRIDAY LOUNGE… It is my pleasure to invite you to go to this link, at http://groups.bluecanvas.com/BLUE/forum/post/2827 And post your work, and then make your own selection, and notify the Artist of their Feature, while also inviting them to keep the ball rolling… and pay-it-forward… just like this!
I'm honored. Expect for temps here to reach in the high 90's today. Chance of rain so we have cloud cover otherwise temps here in the Desert SW would be in low 100's.... That's the weather report here. Thanks so very much for selecting my work!!! :))))

It's weird how green the water is.

Weird but beautiful. It looks like an agate.
Posted by lucindawalter on August 31, 2011
It is the natural color of the water, an emerald green/blue color.
