the work is muted by layers, but very clear in what you are conveying to the viewer, excellent work in my view.
Posted by allen35540 on October 01, 2011
Stunning photograph of the child. This is just a little "busy" in my opinion, the upper layers have to much texture, would have used something a wee tad less busy to get this. Understand showing the eyes in the clear, just something a little less patterned over the top.
Posted by rodeorose on October 01, 2011
Thanks for all your great comments Allen. I appreciate them so much. Really my purpose with these works is to express at a personal level, and this one has special meaning, and the heavy texturing is very intended, of not to everyone's liking. Allen, I usually add in my descriptions whether works are textured and whether I have borrowed anyone else's textures in the production of what you see here. I am certainly not a photographer as much as i am a hobbyist who dabbles in photographic art, and sells a bit .. though my purpose is to express what I feel about my subjects, which is always personal. Please be most welcome to comment as you have, as it gets me back to look at what i have done, and why, and that is so valid :)

Wonderful work !!!! Do you have the original picture, without process? I would like to look at it. I´m thinking about, Photographer Actor Group!!! The eyes expression is great!!!
Posted by rodeorose on June 20, 2011
I shall post the original later for you Julce- thank-you. This is a candid shot my friend, as are the others you visited, and I do not understand if that is accepted to your Photographic Actor Group...??? appreciate your comments so much dear friend. xxx
Now I know the english meaning word "candid", (of a photograph or film) taken informally, especially without the subject's knowledge), and I think about again your question, I do not understand if that is accepted to your Photographic Actor Group...???
So, I need to say in Photographic Actor Group, that candid image and "no candid image " is accepted. In fact, is like this. I know is not the same, but I do not want to make that distinction, because in fact, could not know in all cases, if the picture was made with the conscious participation of the person. Anyway, I'm going to rethink the idea of the group, to refine it. Many thanks Rosie!!!
THANK-YOU Julce! I will watch how you develop this Group with great interest. You have already attracted such great work my friend, and I congratulate you on this! I shall add the works you mentioned xxx
I have clarified the rules of the group:PHOTOGRAPHIC ACTOR: Someone who expresses across a camera with their consent and as an extension of the group, without their consent, a candid picture. Thanks Rosie for your support!!!
Posted by julce on June 25, 2011
Hi Rosie!!! The picture is alright to the Photgraphic Actor Group!!! You've made your changes to the photo, but the expression on the girl is unchanged. I want to thank you for having extended a third time my idea of the group. The first time was with the photo of the ad. Thank you very much for your direct and indirect support to the group. Warm regards!!!
