I like to think of this picture as saying even tho fragilly made, there is strength built into that fragility, tho fragile of body, we have strength of will and it would be to the detriment of those that just see our fragilities lest they forget our strengths. I love the juxaposition of those ideas: brain vs brawn, sword vs pen, etc. Great thought-provoking image.

We sometimes think of the big jungle cats as lethal and dangerous, forgetting they are vulnerable as are the humans on this planet. You have perfectly captured the concept of a fragile race on a broken planet.

Beautiful artwork indeed, I feel happy to consider your work:) .......... Nature Quote of the Day It's easier to go down a hill than up it but the view is much better at the top. Henry Ward Beecher said. .......... Don't worry, be happy. Sunny

Hi dear! We had some beautiful teasing weather in March and things started bursting forth, the magnolias for example, then a hard 25 degree frost! This year the magnolia blooms were nipped in the bud=(. We are getting ready to plant peas, been pruning pear, peach and apple trees, and working on my new studio space in the barn. Needless to say, I am anxious to get it ready to do some art!!=) My best to you!

I just realized that I'd favorited this but failed to leave a comment! But what can I say my dear friend. So totally mesmerizing - and yet I see some sadness in those eyes, as beautiful as they are. It's hard to express Rosie, just how much your work speaks to me ...and this piece, it speaks even more and makes me somehow a bit melancholy too.

Posted by rodeorose on June 23, 2011

They have much to be melancholy for my friend....To be made so beautiful was such a curse for them. Thanks so much for coming back here - thinking of you xxxxxxxx

Oh Rosie! How can I describe my reaction to this? This is such a magnificent rendition of this glorious puddytat! Is he/she a Snow Leopard from Canada, or is she/he from the Melb Zoo? (I can't tell - tsk.) Anyhow, I am so entranced by everything about this baby! Those beautiful penetrating eyes... Oh how they captivate! And, how my eyes keep gazing into them.. how startling they are! Such a beautiful face, and those whiskers are just divine! The overlay of the trees adds such an air of mystery, and they are so fitting to the idea of the big cat hunting in the forest/jungle! The rendering of the image in these tones of blues, is just superb, and I absolutely love the way that the colours move through different blues, seeming like ?Prussian? Blue at lower right of frame, and then so much like French Ultra, at top left of frame... I just love it! Thanks for sharing this with us! Love Trish xxx (PS Now I can't move on from staring.. so it is your fault that I am not getting through any more comments on BCLC piccies tonight!!!)

Posted by dudtrish on June 23, 2011

(PS It would be good if someone who DID know their colours could explain all the tones of Blue to us!)

Posted by rodeorose on June 23, 2011

Trish this is the Melbourne Snow Leopard....but layered with a Canadian forest and snow! I am so glad you appreciate the Blues xxxxxxxxxx
