Dear Rosie, I really appreciate your kind comment and wonderful compliment! And yes, I have approached publishers, but it's incredibly competitive (as, I'm sure, you know), especially in the children's book illustration business. I've written my own stories and illustrated them, and I'll keep trying to "break into the market"! I guess that's the only thing us artists can do! Thanks again for coming by. Your comment alone made my day!

Thanks so much for your great comment, and, strangely, the background didn't take me all that much time--believe it or not! I've got a lot of practice with my old fashioned nib and ink ;-)

Oh! Sorry! Okay, I lied... it took me three weeks, ten bottles of ink, a bloody index finger, cramps in my arm, and while I worked on it my house burned down and now I'm homeless :-( Better? ;-))

I'm still not quite sure where she came from. I think it started out with the shell. It's hard to trace back how your imagination worked. I'm happy you like her.
