I have a friend who used to buy old books to cut up for collages. He would go to thrift stores looking for them specifically.

I love the look but the thought of cutting books makes me shudder. Even if they aren't good books.

Yes, I love that "retro" look as well! That's a good idea gutterhugger, I bet I could find old magazines in thrift shops as well. I hear you Morraha, but I have a long history of dissecting books. I hope you won't hold it against me (once you've stopped shuddering at the very thought, that is).
AAAIIIEEEE!!!!!! Those poor pages. :( At least tell me you killed them quickly to end their suffering.
I am not crazy about cutting books up either. But for art.
Yes, Morraha, it was quick, I assure you :) Yes, the things we do for art. I recently scanned my face while I was having an emotional break down. Now that is commitment, no? Here is one: http://www.bluecanvas.com/edit-album/43186
Commitment indeed! That is an edit album link, I can't view it.

The layers work so well together - great work!
Thank you! These images came from an old magazine I found... sure wish I had more of them! The yellowing paper, and stereotypical images of women were fun to play with.
