Description:
I had a strange, vivid dream a few nights ago. There was a nymph-like creature who lived in a pool of amniotic fluid. She swam gracefully around in it, seemingly unaware of anything outside her tank, and unresponsive to any attempts to engage her. She lived in her own world. She brought all creativity and inspiration into our world, through the visions of what she saw in hers. Without her, no art could exist.
She was completely helpless and unable to defend herself, should anyone wish to harm her. There was also an evil giant in my dream who wanted to destroy her, and cast our world into a darkness without any art or beauty. He was full of hurt and rage... completely consumed by them. The only way to defeat him was to let myself become completely consumed by each emotion, one at a time, which would draw him to me. He would kill me, but I was brought back to life each time, only to become a different emotion. Each time I became a different emotion and he killed me, that emotion drained from him and he became weaker. I knew that if I just kept at it, eventually I would drain all his hate and anger out of him, and there would be nothing left. And the dreaming muse, while completely unaware of what was happening around and for her, would be safe and would continue to supply the world with inspiration.
While it was an unpleasant dream, I woke immediately knowing it would spawn some photos, and this is one of them.

Great piece, I wish I had dreams like that, but I rarely ever remember my dreams.

Sounds like a very meaningful dream, and your painting reflects this dream quality too.

Thank you... while it's actually a photograph, I wanted a painterly feel; it seems like I achieved that :)
