I know this story very well. At about the same age I too lost my father, my older sister and mother went through this...Is the star pattern in the center an accident or intended? I see a man with arms raised.

I'm sorry for your loss. The star pattern is intended, thank you for noticing. He is supposed to represent the spirit of the father watching over his family from the afterlife.
