Powerful work. Love this.
Thank you for the support and stars. This piece does seem to resonate with almost everyone who sees it.
I believe it. This piece brings up personal feelings of mortality as i stare at it. It does a great job of bring me into a specific moment while separating me from the figures staring back - and that reinforces the whole experience so well. Great work man.
Fotis, this piece has always been one of my faves of yours, sending out a strong message of how we are all at the mercy of the healthcare system. Congratulations! I chose your work for feature in the BLUE FRIDAY LOUNGE… It is my pleasure to invite you to go to this link, at http://groups.bluecanvas.com/BLUE/forum/post/2674 And post your work, and then make your own selection, and notify the Artist of their Feature!! While also inviting them to keep the ball rolling… and pay-it-forward…
Nightmares are made of such things as these ! Extremely creepy, in a good way . bty : love the clip board
Thanks for pointing out the clipboard as we are afterall there for data collection purposes in the mind of health care professionals.
Yes, like labrats. I also noticed the ankle straps, which gave me a feeling of impending doom -and - ' You better behave and lying still, or we'll be forced to tie you down '
We have lost responsibility for ourselves and our surrounding..and the medical system..yikes!!!!!!stay away!!!!!!!!
All too true that we must take responsibility for our actions, health and well being, but when we are conditioned to follow the corporate line and constantly bombarded with those false ideals there is no chance for what little remains of our strength of will to take control.
The commentary previous speaks pretty well on how great this piece is, I just want to add that I absolutely love the forced perspective
Thank you, the 4 etchings from this series are all from point of view of the character who goes through a less than ideal life (violence from birth, hunger and shame from indifference, the trauma and fear of illness and ultimately the peacfull release of death)
This is great
Thanks, It just won a minor award at the 24th Northern National Arts Exhibition in Wisconsin, so it is starting to get some exposure.
A powerful portrayal, not just of the medical field perhaps, but of all around us that dehumanizes, disempowers, and exploits our vulnerabilities. It is such a treat to discover your gallery!
Thank you for the astute observation, it is such a shame that society encourages this treatment of one another at the behest of those who would profiteer off all our pain and misery.
How often the patients are at the mercy of the post modern healthcare system. Doctors and nurses forced to cater to the system and not to the patient is one of the most frustrating situations in healthcare today. Brilliant social commentary in your work here.
Thank you both, only if we could get rid of all the political power held by those who cloud the issue of healthcare and human rights in order to expand their corporate friends' pocketbooks!
great fotios...love this
Yes, that is one of the essential paradoxes that exist when the individual is told that he/she must be independent, free-will, self-sufficient but then still follow the strict power structures and dogmatic principles that govern those institutions that hoard the power over us. Thanks Ed!

I love how you really allow us to exercise our imagination with your art--there are so many theories one can come up with as to the story behind this image!

Thank you for pointing that out, as art is a mutual process. It must task the viewer to engage it, otherwise it is merely decoration.

The stuff of nightmares - scary but terrific.

I love this one so much I had to come back.

Ha ha, it makes me laugh. I mean, I wouldnt like to be in a position like that, it looks like Kierkegaard is in a real bad situation. In the same time I feel the responsibility of giving support to those with sad health conditions. It was an ironic laugh, all the time in life you have some people "watching for your stability"

Thanks for the comments. If you are in a position like this and you don't laugh about it, you can go crazy.

Very true. Makes me shiver. Great concept.

the laboratory of the medical establishment as it pokes and prods and stumbles along is a grave threat indeed.

Thank you for your insightful comment, much appreciated. We can't have a serious conversation about health care without first resolving the parodox of profiting off illness.
